Air Dave sent these pictures of a couple
nice waves in Costa Rica. Yup, its a wood
board - he builds them at his shop -
Gallardo Surf - in Washington State and
they test them in CR. Boy, the sacrifices
he makes for the sport!
Another nice left on a Gallardo wood
surfboard in Costa Rica.
Philip sent these pictures of surfing in Reunion. What? You don't know where Reunion is? You probably were sick
the day they covered it in Geography class, right? Yeah, me too. Reunion is a small island off the East coast of
Madagascar. Google it, its very cool. Its actually part of France and they refer to it as "The French Hawaii".
Whatever you call it these are some nice waves. Soon we will have pics of Philip riding his new hollow wood board!
Oh, the "hats" are protection from a doing a "header" into the coral. Merci vraiment Philippe, elles sont superbes!
Smithy Smith sent these pics of him and his mates from Queensland Australia on a trip to Sa Moana resort in Samoa.
He said the surf started out big and then got bigger every day, They broke several boards each day. Check out the
broken board in front of the group. Soon Smithy will be sending a pic of the 6' 7" fish he is almost done with.
Robert from Port Huron Michigan sent these pics of surf on Lake Huron. They were taken in October and I don't
know about anybody else but I don't think they make a wet suit thick enough to get me in that water at that time of
year. Really nice, ridable waves Robert, now lets see you on your wood board.
Brian in Japan sent
this shot of local
surfing. Brian lives in
Tachikawa which is in
the central, eastern
part of Japan. Nice
long lefts and a short
paddle. Where the
heck are all the
people? If this is what
its like all the time
you can count me in.
What's better than a
nice hollow left ? How
about TWO nice
hollow lefts with an
offshore breeze to
hold them up! John
sent this pic of a
"secret spot" in New
England. He says that
only about 5 guys
have surfed there. He
is going to send pics
of him trying out his
new hollow wood
board there when he
finishes it.
Brian, who sent the pic of
Japan, also sent this one
taken by his brother Nov.
3, 2007. Its of a friend
named Sean riding a nice
roller that looks like its
about to get real hollow.
The spot is Long Beach
Island, New Jersey. I'm
guessing that the water
temperature is in the 40s
- or lower. Hard core for
sure! Thanks for the
great shot Brian.
Richard in Switzerland send this shot of his
friend paddling out on Lake Constance.
Obviously its a big lake and there is a storm
going. Mostly they river surf but in the
summer they travel to the French Atlantic and
Switzerland - who knew?
